FAQ BAR for Upcoming Event/Wedding
Liquor Licence & Liability Insurance?
A.We have our own insurance to protect our company. The couple should purchase their own insurance, it's a minimal cost. We get ours at (you can use them too):
www.palcanada.com
or talk to your insurance.
In order to get insurance you must have a liquor license.
Liquor License can be purchased at:
www.agco.ca
From our understanding they will issue it only to brick and mortar businesses or properties with structures such as a barn or properties that are zoned for business. They do not govern private residential weddings/ parties.
It is the responsibility of the client to do their due diligence. We can't apply for the permit on your behalf.
Cash Bar? Open Bar?
A.This is only for an open bar events. We are't permitted to take cash or tickets in exchange for alcohol, as per Ontario's laws. No exceptions as we face potential fines. The government allows the sale of alcohol with a liquor license for a Jack n Jill (Stag & Doe) only.
Can we rent the trailer by itself?
A.Short answer: for now no. We pride ourselves in choosing top notch bartenders that are smart serve certified & will enhance the party experience. Plus we are anal retentive with cleanliness and want to preserve the bar.
Trailer Dimensions?
A.8'x8' & 14' high
Vendor serving window faces the drivers side.
Keg size & prep?
A.We recommend:
Slim 30 (24"hx12"w) which is 30 litres (1056 ozs) = 88 servings (12oz per serving)
Weight is 80lbs.
We have two keg taps.
You must buy and have on ice 24 hours prior to our arrival. Non-negotiable. We can't pick up the kegs and bring to event for you, due to government laws.
Prep- You will need to submerge in a clean garbage can or barrel, with a minimum of 10-15 bags of ice. *Very important. Cover the top with a wet towel to keep the cool in.
We arrive 2 hours prior to an event with kegs so that when we put it in place, the keg has time to settle from movement.
Above steps above ensure the beer doesn't foam.
Number of kegs :
1 for under 100 people
2 for over 100 people
Buy canned beer for excess in order to
reduce waste: Once a keg is tapped, you likely can't extract, unless you own a keg system so please keep that in mind.
Parking the trailer, time & requirements?
A.We setup the day of & arrive typically 2 hours ahead for events with kegs, 1.5 hours without kegs.
We don't generally park trailer the day before, unless discussed prior. Due to scheduling & locations, this may or may not be possible.
We need an electrical hook up. We don't require too much power, just enough to run a couple wine fridges & a freezer.
We need a level area of 10 by 10 feet minimum.
If we are supplying coffee and tea for your event, it is recommended that you we do so on another circuit. Boiling water takes a decent amount of electricity and can blow your fuse.
*Only Marry Me Mobile Staff is permitted to move the bar due to insurance reasons and our own rules.
Garbage and Empties
A.We have a large garbage can behind the bar trailer that is for bar use only, where we put all the larger liquor and wine bottles in. At the end of the night we sort and put them back into the boxes or can leave them in the bag. Please instruct us where you want empties at the end of the night.
We also have a smaller, nice looking garbage that will be placed in front for cups and cans.
WE RECOMMEND that you put several garbage cans around the property for empty cans and cups. We will place a smaller nice looking garbage can near the trailer but don't allow for larger ones as it will attract bees and makes the bar look "trashy".
Don't underestimate how messy it will get without having adequate garbage cans around the premises. We recommend placing at least two near the reception table area, any additional gathering spots and one near portable washrooms (if applicable).
Please have someone checking your garbages regularly. We will maintain our bar area and our garbage cans. Serving alcohol and keeping the bar stocked is our top priority and we help tidy up when we can but it isn't our main responsibility.
It's important that you have a plan in place.
Do you supply alcohol?
A.Unfortunately not. Government regulations don't allow us to. Client supplies all alcohol. We are a mobile bartending service!
